Takashi Haruki new BASF Pozzolith president
Tokyo, Japan, March 31, 2008 – As from April 01, 2008, Takashi Haruki will become President and Representative Director of BASF Pozzolith Ltd. In this function he will assume direct responsibility for BASF’s Construction Chemicals business in Japan. This includes development and manufacturing of admixture materials and building material products for concrete, as well as sales of admixture system products and building material system products in Japan, which is one of BASF’s most strategically important markets for construction chemicals in the region.
Prior to his appointment Haruki was Operating Officer and General Manager of the Corporate Services Department of BASF Pozzolith. The appointment was made at the annual shareholders’ meeting and board meeting.
He will succeed Toshio Watanabe, head of BASF Pozzolith since its foundation in 2007, who is retiring at the end of March.
Haruki, 50, started his career with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (currently KPMG) in 1982. He joined NMB Ltd. in 1995 and became a board member in 2006. That same year he became a board member of Pozzolith Bussan Co. Ltd., a NMB group company. Following the merger of NMB, Pozzolith Bussan and BASF Construction Systems Co. Ltd. in 2007, Haruki became Operating Officer and General Manager responsible for Corporate Services Department of BASF Pozzolith. PDF is here
